Estonia: The Estonian Television Girls’ Choir The Estonian Television Girls’ Choir will represent Estonia at Eurovision Choir of the Year 2017. The Estonian Television Girls’ Choir was founded in 1990 by Aarne Saluveer who is also the choir’s artistic director. Under Aarne’s leadership the choir has developed into an internationally recognised group of musicians. The choir’s repertoire ranges from spiritual and secular music of different ages to folk programs with choreography, modern pop and jazz music and innovative crossover projects with 30 singers taking part, all this summing up to a musical experience of undiscovered acoustic scenery. Today the choir is comprised of about 25-30 singers aged 15-25, most of whom have a musical education and earlier choir-singing experience. The choir has given concert tours as the cultural ambassador of Estonia around the world. Throughout its musical journey the choir has performed on international TV and radio channels including ERR, WDR, BBC, YLE, MTV3, Danish Radio, RAI, NRK, Russian and Latvian TV channels. The choir also collaborated on Michael Jackson’s HiStory Tour, and has worked with leading composers, orchestras and choirs around the world.
